It all started out in a barn outside of Gothenburg in 2004. An acoustic guitar, piano and female vocals - focusing on the often overlooked qualities when it comes to expressing inequalities in metal lyrics. Both swedish and international media started taking notice which led to rotation on radio/tv shows and intense international touring followed.

Hellsongsmade a name for themselves through their unique covers but the latest album shows their song writing qualities as well. Always in the service of society – always with an angry fist raised for solidarity, love and equality.

From the depths of post-punk, cold wave and dancefloor, Levin Goes Lightly is back with a new album: ‘Numb’ is the title of his fifth longplayer, which has just been released. Levin Goes Lightly tells of toxic relationships, dark periods in life and great love in his characteristic weird images. The melodic vocals alternate between German and English, while the musical framework consists of driving electronic beats, cool synthesisers, warm organ tones and wavy guitar parts.

There is also the new single ‘Allein’. A hymn to being alone. Levin'a most personal song on the album so far.

The 'Volksmund' is half open. Sitting on the dark fringes of Germany, in wood-panelled corner pubs, his foot taps to electronic body music. He turns up his nose to disguise the fact that he suddenly doesn't like synth-pop too much. The 'Volksmund' makes his house of cards collapse, he dreams of leaving and yet asks himself, thoughtfully tugging at his collar: Is it better somewhere else?

The fifth single Okay by Levin Goes Lightly is the second English-language release and one of the two electronic songs from the upcoming album Numb (out 18 October).

With powerful arpeggio synthesiser, straight punchy beat and shimmering sounds, Okay is an epic discharge. The first verse begins with Flora's beautiful voice and an almost breathy insult: ‘At the end of the day you need someone to tell you, that you suck!’. You need someone to tell you that you suck. The reconciliation comes in the chorus and in the joint duet between Flora and Levin: ’At the end of the day you need someone to tell you, that you are okay!' Honesty can be vulnerable and at the same time, nothing is as reassuring as someone telling you that you're okay just the way you are. Especially from someone with a voice as beautiful as Flora's.
